MAISON KITSUNÉ DAIKANYAMA — A Record of the Capsule Pop-Up

For twenty-one days, from 2 to 22 March 2026, the Maison Kitsuné x KURO capsule collection was shown and sold at Maison Kitsuné Daikanyama.

Daikanyama

The venue was Maison Kitsuné Daikanyama, in Sarugakucho, Shibuya — the Tokyo end of a brand that has spent its life moving between two cities. Denim carrying hand-painted postcards of Paris landmarks, hung in a corner of Tokyo. For three weeks the back-and-forth built into the collection took the form of a place.

The pop-up

The room held the full run of the capsule, laid out so that everything could be picked up and handled: the hero work jacket and trousers, the selvedge denim jacket and pants, the sun-faded sweatshirt carrying the fox, the vintage-wash T-shirts, the denim cap and the tote bag.

Denim is a material photographs struggle with. The selvedge edge left by a shuttle loom, the gradations of indigo, the sheer weight of the cloth — none of it reads until it is in the hand. That is why the collection was shown this way rather than another.
