MAISON KITSUNÉ x KURO — Crafted in Japan, Rooted in Paris

An ecru denim work jacket embroidered with hand-drawn Paris landmarks and the Kitsuné fox

Maison Kitsuné and KURO have unveiled a capsule collection for Spring/Summer 2026. One brand has moved between Paris and Tokyo for two decades; the other has kept its roots in the workshops of Kojima, Okayama. What the two share, for all their different origins, is a single conviction: that clothing is culture.

Hand-painted postcards, travelling across denim

At the centre of the collection is a work jacket and trouser set. Hand-painted postcard motifs, drawn from Paris landmarks, are laid across the cloth — the idea of wearing the memory of a journey, translated directly into design. The illustrations are not ornament. They work as a record of movement, and of cultural passage between two places.

The collection

  • Denim work jacket and trousers with hand-painted postcard motifs (the hero pieces)
  • A classic selvedge denim jacket with matching pants
  • A sun-faded sweatshirt carrying the Maison Kitsuné fox
  • Vintage-wash T-shirts built around Paris and Tokyo motifs
  • Accessories including a denim cap and a tote bag

Every piece is cut to be genderless, and sits easily across the situations of an ordinary day.

Finished, all of it, in Kojima

KURO dyes, cuts and finishes its garments in Kojima, in Okayama prefecture. Selvedge denim from shuttle looms; handwork passed down through generations. This capsule is no exception — every item is made in Japan. The texture and durability of the material, and the beauty of the imperfection that age brings: these garments are built on the assumption that they will change slowly, alongside the person wearing them.

The campaign images are carried by the artisans who make the clothes. Putting the makers in their own work is a way of placing respect for the craft directly into the frame.

In their words

“Yusuke is a one-of-a-kind Japanese denim expert. We are truly grateful that he brought his deep denim knowledge and washing expertise to our craft. We are delighted to present the beautiful pieces we created together in our stores.”

Gildas Loaëc & Masaya Kuroki, Co-founders of Maison Kitsuné

“This collaboration is about slowing down and listening to the material itself. Working with KURO allowed us to approach denim with intention — focusing on process, texture, and longevity.”

Abigail Smiley Smith, Creative Director of Maison Kitsuné

“Working with Maison Kitsuné, a house that values craftsmanship and storytelling, has been a very special encounter for us. Through this capsule, the precision of Japanese making and the poetic sensibility of Paris have come together, and I feel we have created clothes that will evolve over time with the people who wear them.”

Yusuke Yatsuhashi, Founder and Designer of KURO
