PRODUCT DETAILS
Refined denim created using traditional Japanese techniques
"Graphite," which has been available since KURO was founded, features a slim straight silhouette that fits snugly around the waist.
It provides a comfortable fit while maintaining a stylish line.

This denim is made from 12.5oz selvedge denim made by Ihara Orimono, a company with over 100 years of history.
It is characterized by its deep appearance and excellent durability, produced using weaving techniques using old-fashioned shuttle looms.
In addition, by using uneven yarn (a special yarn with uneven thickness) made from short fibers, a three-dimensional look and a shadowy appearance are created.

Advanced sewing techniques by Kesennuma Oikawa Denim
Sewing is done by Oikawa Denim of Kesennuma, a company boasting outstanding craftsmanship.
It features distinctive serpentine stitching, a detail that requires advanced technique.
Furthermore, meticulous sewing techniques, including a double stitching process, ensure a finish that is both durable and beautiful.

 Fabric characteristics and manufacturing process
Uneven yarn spinning – Uneven yarn made from short fibers creates a unique texture and depth.
Rope dyeing – The warp threads are repeatedly dyed with indigo, leaving the core white, allowing you to enjoy the rich fading that develops the more you wear it.
Fabric woven on an old-fashioned shuttle loom – carefully woven at a slow speed to give the fabric a fluffy texture and durability.
Use of selvedge – Selvedge is also used on the pockets, expressing the beauty of traditional craftsmanship in every detail.
 Attention to detail
Slim straight silhouette – A beautiful silhouette with a straight line that fits snugly around the waist.
Serpentine stitchwork – a unique sewing detail created with advanced craftsmanship.
Double stitching process – careful tailoring for added strength and durability.
Reinforced bar tacks – Bar tacks are used in areas subject to stress to increase strength.
Selvedge coin pocket and back pocket – Inheriting the details of vintage denim, they also function as design accents.
Indigo denim that changes over time - the longer you wear it, the more you can enjoy its unique aging.
"Graphite" has been part of KURO's DNA since the company's founding.
This piece is a fusion of traditional techniques and modern design, truly symbolizing KURO.

About the brand

Wear the authenticity.

Wear the culture.

Uncompromising everyday wear in modern times.

KURO, founded in Tokyo in 2010, initially began as a denim brand with the purpose of merging Tokyo's dynamic energy with the high craftsmanship of Okayama denim. The brand name, KURO, meaning "black" in Japanese, reflects the subtle beauty embodied in words like black-purple, jet black, and black-brown, inspired by the color of Japanese eyes and hair. KURO’s collections are defined by the concept of "black" in Japanese, which embodies a delicate sense of refinement.

By incorporating the unique sensibilities and perceptions of the Japanese people, KURO’s creations blend modernized design with the craftsmanship inherited from artisans across Japan, carrying on history and tradition. KURO views its denim products not merely as denim but as an integral part of its identity, reflecting both culture and respect for the environment. From the development of original fabrics to the architectural elements incorporated into minimalist designs, each component fuses with the expertise of skilled Japanese craftsmen. This combination creates a timeless dignity and serene elegance that endures over time.

KURO’s journey is one of pursuing a wordless elegance that lies within not just aesthetics and materials, but also in the highest quality textiles, minimalist design, and meticulously crafted garments and denim. Our denim collection embodies this philosophy, blending understated sophistication with a modern lifestyle, resulting in designs that reflect the perspectives, ideas, and values that shape today's society.
