A new KURO staple, this short, boxy denim jacket draws inspiration from the design elements of the First and Second Type denim jackets. Dropped shoulders and generously sized armholes create a relaxed, contemporary silhouette with a sense of effortless ease. The adjustable cinch back allows for subtle adjustments to the waist for a more personalized fit.

The jacket is crafted from rare selvedge denim that faithfully reproduces the character of early 1900s vintage denim. Woven on traditional shuttle looms, of which only a few hundred remain in Japan, this exceptionally rare fabric can take up to two years to become available. Developed in close collaboration with Kaihara, one of Japan’s largest denim manufacturers, the 12.5 oz fabric features deep indigo tones achieved through rope dyeing. After washing, its weight increases to nearly 13 oz, resulting in a durable fabric with rich texture and character.

This model undergoes an intensive shaving process across the entire fabric surface to achieve an intentionally faded, lighter appearance. Skilled artisans at a specialized factory in Akita create an exceptionally even fade while preserving a soft, full-bodied feel. Every construction detail is carefully considered, from the fine stitching made with 30-count thread to the military-inspired chest pockets that combine elements of the First and Second Type jackets. Vintage-inspired gathers beneath the back yoke further enhance its authentic character. A distinctive piece that brings together 15 years of KURO’s expertise, it offers the depth and appeal of denim with the look of natural aging already beautifully realized.
