STANDARD DENIM JACKET - VOID

Inspired by the classic Type III denim jacket, this piece features a clean, sculpted tailored fit. Designed for those who prefer sharp, body-contouring lines over a relaxed, boxy silhouette, it offers a refined take on a timeless denim staple. Instead of a back cinch belt like the “RATIO” model, vertical tucks extending from the sides of the chest pockets allow the jacket to move naturally with the body, embodying a balance of functional design and understated beauty.

The fabric is a rare selvedge denim that faithfully reproduces the character of early 20th-century vintage denim. Woven on shuttle looms, of which only a few hundred remain in Japan, this exceptional material can take up to two years to become available. Its deep indigo hue, achieved through rope dyeing, reflects the distinctive craftsmanship of Japanese denim production. Originally weighing 13.5 oz, the fabric gains density through washing, reaching approximately 14 oz and developing a tougher, richer texture.

This quality is made possible by Kaihara, one of Japan’s largest denim manufacturers, and KURO’s distinctive production approach, in which the designer personally visits factories and works closely with the people who make each piece. Classic Type III details, including pointed pocket flaps and single-button closures, are reinterpreted with refined stitching using fine 30-count thread and carefully controlled stitchwork. The precision of every detail reflects the sewing expertise KURO has cultivated over 15 years.
