17/-ROUND SHAPE DYED TEE "From Follows Function"

This graphic tee visualizes the structure and function itself, starting from the modernist philosophy of "Form Follows Function." By taking fragments of shapes and materials born for function, shifting their meaning and context, and reconstructing them, we aim to integrate this philosophy into everyday wear. The concept is not to achieve a completed beauty, but to preserve the structure and process in the midst of thought.

Material

Made from open-end yarn, commonly used in casual wear. The dry and rough texture characteristic of thick yarn is created with Japanese-made fabric. By adopting a seamless circular knit body, it offers a natural, comfortable fit and a traditional look.

Processing

Garment-dyed and finished in Kurashiki City, Okayama Prefecture. The WHITE color suppresses dye penetration, maintaining the original whiteness and lightness of the material. The BLACK color achieves depth of color and a slight unevenness through dyeing and washing. With repeated washing, it will develop a soft, vintage feel and natural fading.

Silhouette

Features a round body specification produced by traditional circular knitting machines. The relaxed silhouette with ample room in the shoulders and body naturally conforms to body movements.

Background Story

The central graphic is an image of a cut-out section of a structure designed with priority on function. The text "Form Follows Function" is placed to re-examine the beauty that arises from rationality and practicality. This graphic is not the answer to design, but an entry point for thought. It is a piece completed by each wearer's individual interpretation.
