These jeans visualize the time and movement accumulated in denim through a cut-and-sew structure reminiscent of geological layers (TECTONIC).
Instead of a uniform single piece, the design embraces the depth and unique character created by multiple overlapping layers, evolving towards completion the more they are worn.
Through artisanal cut-and-sew techniques and processing, the aim is to create a piece where the material's history and new expressions coexist.

Material

Utilizing 12.5oz selvedge denim crafted by Ihara Textile, a company boasting over 100 years of history.
Woven on a vintage shuttle loom, the fabric possesses the uneven texture unique to slub yarn, characterized by its deep, rich feel.
Based on a FADED INDIGO shade, the processing creates multiple layers of light and dark within a single pair.
As they are worn, the difference in expression between the cut-and-sew sections and the base fabric will become even more pronounced.

Processing

The production process is structured to create distinct expressions for each denim part, with processing applied to make the cut-and-sew sections stand out structurally.
While color fading and tonal variations are intentionally controlled, the final appearance of each pair is subtly unique.
With continued wear, the differences from processing and age-related changes will overlap, evolving into a more three-dimensional expression.

Silhouette

A gently spreading line based on a flare silhouette.
The waist to knee area is neatly fitted, while the flare naturally widens from the cut-and-sew line towards the hem, a design that accentuates the structural elements.
The hem is left raw-cut, creating a look where roughness and structured design coexist.

Background Story

This model was born from the idea of reinterpreting denim not as a "flat surface" but as "layers," and reconstructing it through artisanal craftsmanship.
The cut-and-sew and processing are not mere decoration, but elements positioned to visualize the material and the process itself.
